Camp Highlights
Santa Barbara’s favorite camp for over 10 years. A Paddle Sports Center and Save the Mermaids collaboration.
Keiki Dolphin camp is for our younger explorers, sea creatures, mermaids, and pirates. Join us for five days packed full of ocean play, sports, art and fun! By learning skills that help connect campers to the ocean your keiki dolphin builds confidence in the water, while also having the opportunity to visit seals, sea lions, and even dolphins during our explorations!
The camp provides campers five days of kayaking, stand- up paddle boarding, boogie-boarding, surfing, body surfing, snorkeling, beach play, beach cleanups, art, museums and ocean education through the Santa Barbara Harbor from Sandspit to Leadbetter. We provide all gear including wetsuits. Keiki campers wear wetsuits and life jackets for the duration of the camp while on the water.
- Our Keiki camp ratio is 5:1 (campers:counselors)
- All counselors are CPR for the Professional Rescuer and have gone through our internal 2-day “Ocean Water Safety Leadership Training” course

Our Water Safety Policy – Keiki Age Group
We don’t expect kids to come to camp as excellent swimmers, this camp was designed to help kids improve on already existing swimming skills and help them build confidence in the water.
- Campers will all be asked to do a swim test on day 1 so we can get an idea of where each kids is at. They will be doing this with a PFD on, so it’s mostly a floating test.
- We ask that campers have had previous swimming lessons and are comfortable floating in their life jacket.
- ALL CAMPERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A LIFE JACKET AT ALL TIMES WHILE IN THE WATER
We realize that wearing a PFD isn’t ideal for surfing, but this is our policy. We aren’t a surf camp, we’re an ocean camp that utilizes kayaks, paddle boards, and surfboards to help kids learn skills on all types of ocean craft!
We provide wetsuits and lifejackets.
